SDKs
SDKs
The libraries your game uses to talk to the platform.
A mugon game runs in a sandboxed frame on the platform's page. An SDK is the library inside your game that talks to the platform: it tells you who is hosting and who is connected, sends data between players, reports loading progress and lets the platform cache your game's files.
Every SDK is built on the same JavaScript contract (Mugon.start and its context), so
everything in how a game runs applies to all of them.
| SDK | Status | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Bevy | Available | Rust games built with the Bevy engine, optionally with Lightyear networking. The bevy template sets one up. |
| JavaScript | Available | Games written in TypeScript or JavaScript, with or without a bundler. The typescript and minimal templates set one up. |
| Unity | Coming soon | Unity WebGL builds. |
| Godot | Coming soon | Godot 4 web exports. |
| Trunk | Coming soon | Rust wasm games built with Trunk or plain wasm-bindgen. |
The pages for the engines that are coming soon describe the intended integration. They are not validated yet, so expect rough edges.
Two things that apply no matter which SDK you use:
- Saving data: browser storage isn't available to games yet.
- Known limitations: what doesn't work yet.
- SDK versions: the SDK version your game was built with is recorded when you publish, and the platform keeps supporting it.
